The Belmont Gun Buyback took place on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the DPW Yard, 37 C Street. 18 items were received.
The Belmont Gun Buyback event was a safe, no questions asked, no ID required, way for Belmont residents to dispose of unwanted firearms (working or non-working) and ammunition. The Belmont Police Department and Middlesex Sherriff’s Office provided on-duty officers at the event to receive weapons for the safe storage, followed by destruction in accordance with state law.
Grocery gift cards were provided in the following amounts:
$25 for BB or Pellet Gun or Inoperable Firearm
$50 for Revolver, Semi-Automatic, Shotgun or Rifle
$100 for Assault Weapon
Surplus gift cards and fundraising funds totaling $2469.97 were donated to the Belmont Food Pantry.
